If you say it is...the reservoir of India's past information it won't be wrong as Central Archaeological Library has a pool of 1 Lakh books. It is situated on the second floor of National Archives Annexe which is in Janpath. It is a resource of multiple books dealing into Architecture, History, Anthropology, Archaeology etc. To an extent you can take insight of rare books, original drawings and plates to help in your research study.
The central archaeological library at Janpath, Delhi is one of the biggest library as it contains nearly 1,00,000 books in various fields such as history, art, architecture, indology, geology, literature and even the rarest books and news papers. As per as my knowledge you will get all the required inforamiton here.
