Teaching rhymes to children is very interesting. You can give yourself completely into the charecters of rhymes and teach it with expressions. That is the reason there are so many animated cds of rhymes available in market today. There are many versions of this rhyme. I do not know which is correct. Here are some of those that I found.
1. Cobbler, cobbler mend my shoe,
Get it done by half past two,
Stitch it up and stitch it down
And I will give you half a crown.
2. Cobbler, cobbler, mend my shoe.
Yes! Good master. That I’ll do.
Here’s my awl and wax and thread,
And now your shoe is quite mended.
3. Cobbler, cobbler, mend my shoe.
Get it done by half past two.
Half past two is much too late!
Get it done by half past eight.
My favorite nursery rhyme cobbler cobbler mend my shoe is now ruling my sweet little daughter’s world. I have heard that some things are timeless whose value increases as time lapses and it is true in case of this poetry. Recently my daughter performed on her annual day for this song and I have was stunned to see her act.
This is a popular rhyme which is taught to toddlers during their schooling.
Cobbler, cobbler mend my shoe,
Get it done by half past two,
Stitch it up and stitch it down
And I'll give you half a crown.
