i am the son of parents who have a strong sense of “self esteem”. i live 1000s of miles away from them. both of my parents are in their mid 60s and currently i am restricted to giving suggestions to my dad. i want to know about few good tips on investment options that can be fruitful for senior citizens in india. can anyone guide me on this?

What are all the schemes for senior citizens in India?
There is special savings scheme for senior citizens in post office and in other banks the regular deposit schemes pay higher interest rate to senior citizens. The SCSS from India post office currently gives an interest rate of 9% per anum. Apart from these there can be other state level beneficial schemes to senior citizens.
